Data integrity methodology

Every important fact should answer:“Where did this come from?”

Customer Hunter is designed to retain evidence context throughout discovery, qualification, CRM progression and outreach. This methodology explains what the confidence labels mean—and what the platform never claims without proof.

Confidence is not decoration

Four states with operational consequences.

A green label applies only to the specific fact supported by evidence. For example, an official filing may be verified while active operations and purchase intent remain uncertain.

Verified

The stated fact is supported by current evidence from the named source.

Uncertain

Evidence is incomplete, single-source or awaiting an independent operating check.

Stale

The evidence exceeded its configured freshness window and requires re-verification.

Blocked

The fact cannot be used for progression or outreach until a blocker is resolved.

Provenance chain

Evidence fields retained with the record.

01

Source authority

Who published or supplied the observation.

02

Source URL

Where the supporting public or licensed record can be reviewed.

03

Retrieved at

When Customer Hunter obtained the evidence.

04

Observed at

When the underlying event or fact was reported, when available.

05

Verification state

Verified, uncertain, stale or blocked.

06

Source excerpt

A bounded supporting statement—not a fabricated summary.

07

Method metadata

Provider record ID, connector, model version or audit method.

08

Human decision

Who qualified, rejected or requested more research, and why.

Registry fact

Confirms that an authority recorded an entity or filing event. It does not prove the company is open, funded, reachable or seeking a vendor.

Digital observation

Confirms what a provider or website showed when checked. A missing website or weak profile is an opportunity indicator—not purchase intent.

Intent evidence

Requires explicit first-party behavior or a documented public request. It remains separate from inferred fit and directory observations.

Privacy-safe business research

  • • Business-level identity and public operating facts are prioritized.
  • • Registered agents are not treated as marketing decision-makers.
  • • Residential addresses and sensitive identifiers are excluded from lead use.
  • • Suppression and do-not-contact status block governed outreach.

Claims we do not make

  • • No “court-admissible” or legal-defensibility guarantee.
  • • No SOC 2, GDPR or CCPA certification claim without verified status.
  • • No universal accuracy percentage without measured methodology.
  • • No claim that a business is looking for services without intent evidence.
